One of my favorite media of late is color run sheets, I use ‘ Shout’. After they have gone through a wash cycle then the dryer they take on a more fabric feel and look.
I lay a stencil on the top and with a spatula spread a light modeling paste lightly across the top.
Remove the stencil ( carefully ) and leave to dry. One of the things I like about this is that the modeling paste shrinks up the fabric as it dries so you get a lovely raised effect.
The design (without the paste) is painted with gold acrylic paint.
I lightly rubbed a rubber stamp ink pad.brown lightly over the raised areas.
I’m eventually going to use it as a book cover !
