Well I hopped on a plane and spent a wonderful week with my daughter Vicki in London, visiting museums art galleries and a private preview to see Wrath of the Titans before it was released to the public, she worked on the film with Sam Worthington, as his costume assistant. A week later it was another plane journey over to Marsa Alam Egypt. I was booked to teach a week long work shop by www.colouriciouscreatives. The room they gave us to work in was huge and faced onto the Red Sea, how cool is that. The hotel or should I say the resort with it’s three swimming pools and spa treatments was spotless the staff were forever cleaning and the food was to die for. A lot of the ladies husbands accompanied them to go diving and snorkeling in the Red Sea.
We worked on different techniques, backgrounds, stencils, beading and then lots and lots of hand stitching. It’s been such a long time since I did just hand stitching and it was fun to teach people all the different stitches. I must add that there were a lot of very experienced embroiderers there. Our final evening was celebrated by a typical Egyptian meal compliments of the management.
